A parents worst nightmare!!!!

"Classic" has been killed by hit and run in FLA

Hi All, This is Classis's Mom. I am sad writing this but it is my only way of letting you all know the news. Many may know that Classic is the handle for Isaac, my son. He had been stranded in Lake City FLA area a few days ago on his way to a Key West Vacation with friends from Columbus OH. Quality Air and his wife Sandy came to his rescue just minutes after I posted his plea for assistance. Like Angels out of the sky! He REALLY appreciated their kindness as you can read on his last posting May 16. Below is most of the story. I am living minute by minute dealing with this awful tragedy. Be careful and watch out for the other guys! And Give Life!

Thanks so much to Everyone for the prayers. Please keep 'em coming. This is the most difficult time of our lives.
Our son, Isaac, our first born, age 26, was on his way home from a biking adventure vacation to Key West, Fla. He met up with 5 friends from Columbus, OH also on their motorcycles in south FLA.

We believe this is probably how it all happened:
Isaac was riding alone. He was about 1 mile from Lion Safari campground in West Palm Beach, Fla., where he was planning to sleep Thursday night/Friday a.m. May 15/16, 2008.
As he was approaching an intersection at about 12:45 a.m. a Dodge pick up truck travelling at a high rate of speed, crashed into the back of him on his '02 BMW GS1150. He was thrown backwards onto the hood of the truck and the bike was dragged 250 feet. Isaac, who always wears a helmet, protective riding gear, gloves, boots, etc. was found far away from the bike.
The driver did not even stop.
A passerby reported the debris in the street. The police were dispatched to the scene of a "one- vehicle fatality."
But when the homicide investigator got there, she found Isaac unconscious, alive and intubated by the EMTs. She began investigating the scene.
The motorcycle's rear wheel had been bent badly, indicating that another vehicle had been involved. The other vehicle had lost a part of the bumper at the scene. One of the bike's metal saddlebags wedged under the truck and was found a little bit up the road (appears to have been tossed aside)The truck's broken transmission fluid line left a visible trail of fluid from the scene, directly to his house about a couple miles away!
There is a lot of circumstantial evidence. It's going to be a while before they can arrest the driver. In the meantime, the man who owns the truck(a 26 year old white male with a suspended license, possibly for DUI ), who was probably also the driver, by 10 a.m. had already lawyered up and police are not allowed to ask him for a statement.
Isaac was in ICU at St. Marys Hospital since 2 am. Friday on life support. When he got to the hospital, he was unconscious, unresponsive, both his pupils were fixed and dilated. His skull was fractured, despite the helmet. He had a broken rib and fractured ankle. He had a ruptured spleen removed. His beautiful skin was untouched because of his protective riding gear. All his internal organs except his spleen was unhurt, thank God.

Our family followed Isaac's directive to donate his body. I only wish we didn't have to lose him in order to do it.
We will have a Celebration of Isaac's Life Party Memorial Day Weekend. Details will follow soon as we finalize things. Please keep praying for our family.
Love,
Classic's Mom
