Thanks
Rudy
There are a lot of really nice state parks. Sedona, is beautiful or even monument valley.
Just go on line and look you wont go wrong on what ever you do. It is like another world out there. But be prepared for the heat it gets really hot, it is a dry heat so you need to drink alot of water.

Are you going to have access to car or bike if so you are only 3.5 hours from the Grand Canyon, 5 from Zion Nathanial Parks. 5 from Las Vegas and only 3 hrs from Flagstaff and Williams AZ both are great old rout 66 towns. If you like the Wild West you can go south to old Tucson and see an old frontier town and real gunfight. There are so many places to see you could spend a month there. With all the stuff going on in AZ play it safe and take your passport .I had an issue in TX a little while back and believe me it’s no fun. Have a great trip.
Hi Joey
Thanks for the tips there...we been tot he grand canynon over the winter last year...we even hiked down the grand canyon 3 miles in snow...it was awsome...so we got the Grand Canyon done from our list...also we went thru the Route 66...which was not that great since after the first couple of miles everything seemed the same...i will look into the other National Parks that you mentioned...since we have 5 days to go arnd...i need to pick up some nice national parks to camp....will put up a list of the ones that i am interested in....hmmm gun fight and all sounds interesting...even Indian village sounds good....will pass by Reshmi and see what she thinks of this...
Thanks
Rudy
Rudy,
Go stay at the hostel on San Fransisco St in Flagstaff. You'll have a blast. There are two hostels in Flagstaff last time I was there. Pick one. And go out to the club across the RR tracks. Rent bicycles by day.

Rudy IMHO I agree with Mark and say Flagstaff is a must !.. You leave Pheonix where your just above sea level and the temp will be in the 105-110ºF range and head North to where Flagstaff is at 7000' and the temp is comfortable 80's. l suggest you spend one night in Flagstaff to Acclimate to the Altitude. If your looking for a place to camp check in this area

Right from here you get on the 4.5 mile hike for Humphrey's Trail and go to the top of a 12K foot Peak. Unless you go to Colorado or Washington State you wont be up a higher peak here in the CONUS anyway.

There's a race every year where you start in bottom of the Grand Canyon and run up out of the canyon.. Your time gets stamped. You get to the base of Mt. Humphrey's stamp your card and run to the top. You go thru the all 7 climate zones that exist on Earth. Pretty Cool.
